Customers - Import / Export

Customer Export
You can export your customer list from both the Groovv Register application on your Android device, and from within your account's back office online.
 
To export customer data from the Groovv Back Office:
  1. Once logged into the Back Office
  2. Click the Business tab from the top navigation menu
  3. Select Customers from the Business Menu
  4. Click on the Export icon
  5. Click Save, followed by OK on the popup window that appears and the file will be saved to your computer's designated download folder
To export customer data from within the Groovv application:
  1. Select the button from the bottom of your register's Item grid
  2. Touch , followed by the  button
  3. A message will appear indicating the customer list was successfully exported:                         
 
Customer data is exported to the SD Card (or equivalent) to a folder our app creates title com.groovv.GroovvReg\custexport.csv.
 
The format of the file must be: CustID,LastName,FirstName,Phone,Email
*Note: Any previously existing file within that folder title custexport.csv will be overwritten upon selecting the export option.
 
Customer Import (ONLY Available on Tablet / Register)
Please note that in order to import a customer list, the format of the data file must be in .csv, and contain at least 1 of the following attibutes:
 
The format of the file must be: CustID,LastName,FirstName,Phone,Email
 
Once a file is ready to be imported, it MUST be named custimport.csv and saved in the file folder for your Groovv app titled com.groovv.GroovvReg\custexport.csv, within your device's storage.
 
To import customer data, you must do so from within the Groovv application:
  1. Select the Register Option Menu   followed by the Customers tab
  2. Select the button, followed by the  button
  3. A message will then appear indicating the number of customers successfully imported     
*Notes: The import process might take a few minutes to complete. The number of customers imported will be displayed when complete. Any duplicate customers by email address or phone number will be excluded.
